they call this fun

The studio also serves as a guest room for when my mama visits. She was snooping around the messy stacks and shelves and pulled out the big black and white copy I made of "They Call This Work."

She's a big fan of the piece--bought herself an iPhone case even. The original sold at a show this spring (red dot!), but I had made a high res scan to play around with. I was curious how it would blow-up, what would get distorted, how it would translate big. I'm pretty happy with the results, but I want to play around with the contrast a bit, get rid of some gray, try again. Maybe even go bigger and print it black and white on the color plotter that can print up to 6 feet wide. I dunno.

I was telling her all this and she said:

"We should go slap it up somewhere."

Yeah, it'd be fun to wheat paste it.

"Yes! Let's go put it on the side of the Unemployment Office!"

I love my mom.
