I really like to go out on Sunday nights but for a change it was dinner and a movie at home (the 'For Your Consideration' screener of 'Finding Neverland'....shhh, don't tell anybody.)
And oh man, the movie was great and I made the best collard greens and veggie spicy sausage. Yummy. It looked like a terrible compost pile but, oh-la-la, it tasted like New Orleans. Here's the weekend wine recommendation: I paired it with the crisp and fresh (and cheap) Bonny Doon Pacific Rim Riesling. Great with spicy food.
Later it was little polenta shortbread cookies that I cut into the shapes of hearts, clubs, and diamonds (the spades kept breaking at the stem) and a glass of 1993 Old Reserve Plantation rum from Trinidad while watching the first forty-five minutes of 'A Brother From Another Planet.' John Sayles rocks.
