Repurposing with purpose

Just over a week in and it's already been a super creative year. So much so I actually ran out of glue!

I want to give a big thanks to my talented friend Karen Kinney who is part of the reason I've been furiously cutting and pasting this week. Karen came by Open Studios at Keystone Art Space in November and picked up a copy of my latest zine "Fast and Dirty" (that's her on the couch, looking quite engrossed). A few days later Karen sent me a message about the annual zine emporium LA Zine Fest and I quickly sent in my application.

I'm in! The message came Monday and I've been slicing up magazines and putting them back together again ever since.

I hope to have several new zines and other treats created, pasted, and printed for the festival.

I'll be posting pics of my progress and process on my Facebook page, Tumblr, and Instagram. See you over there. And hopefully on February 15 at LA Zine Fest—the venue is just down the street from my studio in Glassell Park.
